Constitutional Assembly
The Constitutional Assembly, renamed the National Assembly in October 1956, was the principal legislative body of the Republic of Vietnam. Unlike in the northern Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the assembly represented a range of political parties and forces elected through a genuine electoral process, despite regular and often significant executive interference in the electoral process resulting in some electoral manipulation and fraud.7 Records
